As per the information revealed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory(JPL), it has been found that some details have been found of a Saturn. It has happened for the first time when up-close details of the same have been got.
Images of the Saturn storm have been captured by NASA's Cassini spacecraft, revealed JPL. It was on Dec, 5, 2010, that Cassini first saw the storm. Since then, the storm has been raging and is said to be eight times bigger than the surface area of Earth.
After seeing the images, it has been found that the storm has been moving around the planet with a great speed. The current storm is said to be 500 times larger than the storm that was witnessed by Cassini some months back.
If to talk about the number of storms that Cassini has detected then it has detected 10 lightening storms. "Saturn is not like Earth and Jupiter, where storms are fairly frequent. Weather on Saturn appears to hum along placidly for years and then erupt violently", said Andrew Ingersoll from Cassini imaging team at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
It was in 1990 that NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured the images of equally large storm.
