The first smartphone powered by Nvidia Tegra 4i SoC is reportedly all set to hit the European market in April. The smartphone is manufactured by a French manufacturer Wiko and will be called Wiko Wax.
According to Italian website cellulari.it, the Nvidia Tegra 4i-powered Wiko Wax will be priced at EUR 200 (approximately Rs. 17,000). The mid-range smartphone had first been showcased at the Mobile World Congress in February.
The Italian website has listed all the specifications of the smartphone of the Nvidia Tegra 4i-powered Wiko Wax. The GSM smartphone is a single-SIM supported device that runs Android 4.3 Jelly beanout-of-the-box. It features a 4.7-inch (Corning Gorilla Glass 2) display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels.
The Nvidia Tegra 4i-powered Wiko Wax packs a quad-core 1.7GHz Tegra 4i (Cortex-A9) chipset coupled with 1GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Wiko Wax comes with 4GB of built-in storage, with an option of expansion via microSD card (up to 32GB). It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, and LTE connectivity options.
The Nvidia Tegra 4i SoC with LTE on-board, was first announced by the company during MWC 2013. It's the company's first fully-integrated 4G LTE mobile processor, and according to Nvidia is significantly faster than, yet half the size of, its nearest competitor.
